When you swing the golf club did you know that the downswing path of the clubhead is narrower than the clubhead path of the backswing. In this video golf ins…

One of the Tour Strikers has a question about hitting the ground before the ball; the dreaded “fat” shot.
Great analysis – would have been all round great if there were a few drills to show how to ‘educate’ the hands.
Check out my reply to Bernie. I have some drills in that video. Take care.
Chuck love the product and I am a TGM student. One question, why not just set up at impact and then start your swing from there=Handle ahead of the ball 20 degrees?
That’s a good question I get all the time. Some folks do that, but the great majority start in an address alignment so they can get some dynamics in the backswing to load the shaft.
amazing how no one else really emphasizes this. Good stuff
I hear ya! I’m sure there are a bunch of pros that know this stuff, but it certainly is published in many places. Thanks for the note.
Chuck, thanks for the remider about hovering the blade as opposed to resting fully on the ground. I just played two rounds and could not hit my irons well at all, normally I hover the head and hit the ball crisp. This is a major point that will cause weak fat/thin ugly iron shots,.
Thanks again!!!! By the way I love your invention (tour stiker), and tutorials. You and Jimmy Ballard are the best at explaining the swing!
Hello! Thanks a lot for this helpful video. By the way, I hear a lot of people keep on talking about Golfonax Training Program (just google it), but I’m not sure if it is good. Have you thought about this golf training known as Golfonax Training Program? I have heard many unbelivable things about it.
It still surprise me, just how many people are not aware about Golfonax Training Program (search on google), even though a lot of people improve their golf skills with this training program. Thanks to my friend who told me about Golfonax Training Program, I have earn the respect and admiration of my friends and other players.
Great job. Well understood. 0 cap
Thanks for your feedback Roger. Best of luck with your golf this year and when you get a moment check out my other website protourgolfcollege . com where I have lots of advanced level articles that I know you’ll enjoy.
My golf po was trying to explain this- now I really understand why you need to pull down on the handle with my left hand- really good video, thanks
Martin I’m really pleased that you enjoyed the video and that you gained a better understanding of leading with the left hand. Best of luck with your golf and thanks for sharing your comments.
What’s the best drill for learning how to get your hands ahead of the ball at impact?
The best drill is my Youtube video titled: PGA Tours: The Golf Swing Lag Technique which you can find by typing the title into search on the Youtube page.
Thanks,I’ll check it out.
Should this swing be the same with the driver? Thx.
Thanks for your question An. The physics of the driver and iron swing are similar and the only real difference being a forward ball position and a flatter swing plane. Other than that they’re very much alike.
Nice study, which drills do you recommend to practise in attempt to learn these key positions?
Have a look at my YouTube video “PGA Tours: The Golf Swing Lag Technique which will take you through a routine that will help you to learn the key positions. Best of luck with it and thanks for sharing your comments.
Great explanation. Very clear and concise. Now to accomplish.
Thanks for sharing your comments and I’m very pleased you enjoyed the video. I wish you much success with it.
I have recently started playing golf (about two months) and this breakdown of the swing was a huge help. Knowing that at impact, the cocked wrists go past the initial line of address was the single most contributor to fewer fat shots at the range today! Many thanks!
It is so good to read that you have taken up this great game and I wish you many happy moments learning and developing your game so you can enjoy the walk even more.
Thanks for sharing your comments and I’m very pleased that the video has helped you.
This and your other videos are enormously helpful. I’ve watched them most of the morning and just went to hit balls and saw a lot of improvement in my swing and impact position. I’ve taken lessons with a number of teaching professionals, but your videos easily constitute the best instruction I’ve ever seen. It’s very generous of you to post these to youtube. Thanks, Rob
Thanks Rob, I’m very pleased that many of the golfers that watch my videos enjoy them and I can only say that a lot of experience working with golfers over more than 25 years has helped me to learn how to share information in a meaningful way. As always I appreciate you taking the time to share your comments with me and wish you continued success with your golf.
Very thorough explanation. Thank you for putting this together.
This is with out a doubt, the best golf video I , believe I’ve ever seen bar none. Thank you so much for your time. This has been so helpful.
I’m so pleased that you enjoyed the video lesson and I wish you every success with your golf and thanks so much for taking the time to share your comments.
Shortgame
great video, two remarks.
the pivot pulls the club down not the hands.
the radius of the down swing is shorter because the down swing is faster.
Thanks so much for your comments and I truly appreciate your feedback. You sound like you’re a fan of Homer Kelley and his book The Golfing Machine which I have been reading since 1985.
One of the best (if not the best) explanatory videos of the golf swing, brings the components of backswing, lag, impact position and follow through and together very very nicely and quite clearly. I don’t watch many golf lessons on line only Michael Breed but your is right up there. Great stuff!
