How to use a driver and not slice it

Up until recently, I have been using a long iron off the tee as I just couldn’t hit my driver without slicing it OB. I would hit it 170 yards and 40+ yards o…

  1. i like how he exaggerated everything bad so i can see what i look like.

  2. read a book called “the down hill lie” it probably descrobes ur golf life

  3. That drive prolly went well past 250 yards and his backswing wasn’t bad, it was just a little flat. I betcha that guy hits every fairway even if he doesn’t kill it.

  4. I thought it was pretty good. He was instructional, approachable, and had a sense of humor at the end. Still perhaps hit it a little flat, though.

  5. @mikehuntisbleeding ur a handicap everyone that calls themselves golfers know Colin Montgomery. He was the 2010 European Ryder cup captain and won the order of merit loads of times and has 1 of the best records in the Ryder cup.

  6. Described all the faults that i as an amateur do with my swing. Good video, will definately look at these technical aspects to fix my drive

  7. your left heel pulled back toward you in the backswing and your right foot skidded forward during the follow through, this is because your stance is a little too wide and your feet are trying to catch up 😛

  8. I think it would just be funny if once at the end of a video a guy showing you what to do hit a ball, turned and said hey not too bad, then all you heard was *TSHHHH* WTF MY WINDSHEILD!
    good video tho 🙂

  9. Guaranteed Troll or someone that has never swung a club to any degree of skill in thier life. Alternatively, put your own video up and show us 😉 GL

  10. There is no perfect way to swing a club, the only thing that counts is the end result.

  11. FINALLY! I don’t slice anymore. I used the technique and hit my drive with a nice draw (not very far because not much power into the shot) but I then used my 3 wood on the fairway and I hit 205 yards with not much power in it and made it to the green in two on a par 4 which I never have been able to achieve EVER! Thanks from Australia I can go out and hit the tee off area with so much more confidence now and get that score back to the low 80’s (to start with ;)) Cheers mate!

  12. What a tip. I noticed that I was doing almost precisely what you suggested in order to drive straight. Great post to show the application of science to a practical problem. Thanks

  13. yeah…that’s really great, but my body and the club head coming down at around 85 to 90 mph doesn’t have time to adjust to all of that. I’m still inconsistent, sometimes hitting behind the ball with an iron, the ball going 5 yards ahead of me. I know it’s because my shoulder went down but like I said, really HARD to do everything right…that’s all folks

  14. you know when people practise T’ai Chi – they move really smoothly and slowly? The actual use of T’ai Chi as a martial art is one of the deadliest and powerful of all but of course they don’t fight in slow motion! It is to develop muscle memory. Maybe you could try practising often in slow motion for the same reason. Gradually speeding up as the weeks go by. The more gradual the speeding up – the more effective it’ll be when you reach full speed. Patience = big reward. Good luck.

  15. Thanks for taking the time to answer me. But,like anything else in life,it takes commitment to really get better at golf, which I am not ready to do anymore. I’m 61 and only play golf once in a while. I have discovered other sports and other things to do which are less expensive and less time consuming. Too many people play golf and it takes too long to play…don’t have the patience to play for 5 hours. I lose interest after about 3 1/2 to 4 hours. If I can play alone with nobody in front of me.

  16. weight should still be on back foot during and after impact
