Wow. I have been taking advice from a number of different videos trying to fix my slice, and nothing was working. I saw this, changed my grip and kept the clubface closed on the backswing, and it immediately corrected my driver. As a bonus, the same advice also allowed me to hit my irons straighter. This is the most consistent ball striking I have ever had, thanks to you Mark!! Can’t wait to get back out and keep hitting!!
Thank you very much for your wrist tip that has helped me to drive straight. Now I just need the length too, but it’ll come
I tried everything to cure my slice. Correct grip, ball further forward, etc; etc;
What finally got it right for me, after nearly two years of trying and being on the point of selling my clubs, was to take my back swing further back as if I was shaking hands with someone to the right of me. I think this gave the club head more time to “close” to the correct striking angle. I am now hitting 240yds with just the slightest fade. 🙂
Listen up everyone the slice can not as someone has said be cured in 3 shots. This is a huge humiliation to me as a teaching pro and all other good teachers. Here is the easiest way to HELP you cure the slice and it takes TIME and PRACTISE!!! Put your forward hand and take your regular position on the grip then trailing hand halfway down the shaft make your swing at 30% speed and work your way up to 90% at 10% increments.”DO NOT COMPLICATE THE ISSUE” SIMPLICITY SIMPLICITY SIMPLICITY

You don’t want the ball further up in the stance because your shoulders will be open and you will go out and in creating a cut spin
Where is the ball in relation to your feet is the ball slightly of you’re left foot or more in the middle of you feet/stance?
Driver deffinately just inside your left foot.
I find that a good trick to get the correct driver stance is to start with my feet close together (ankles touching) and the ball exactly between them. Then move the back foot to your preferred position. You’ll now have the ball just inside your left foot (if you’re a righty)
Very nice video! I have struggled with a slice for years and after watching your video I realized I have been holding my driver in the middle of my left palm…no one has ever noticed that or even checked my grip that closely. Well done!
The main reason you come over the Top and slice is .. your shifting your weight like a Iron . Drivers you keep your weight behind the ball on your back foot . If you shift your weight to the front foot on a Driver your body will want to swing Out and In , causing your Slice . This is the Main Reason your bodys Going Over the Top and Making you SLice . I’ve Watch 100’s of Videos and there is only one out there i could find that said the right thing.
When I’m at the top of the back swing should I see the head of the club out of the corner of my left eye
I’ve been slicing or fading my Driver for, well seems like forever! 4 hours of lessons and millions of range balls have all failed to cure my balls urge to land on fairways other than the one I’m playing! Then I watched this video, the key bit for me was flattening the wrist to allow the face to be slightly closed when the club is parallel to the ground on the back swing. After practice on the range Today I played a round without a single slice! Thanks for a GREAT video, will be watching more!

Thanks alot, this is exacly what i need to practice on
Thanks Mark, this is what taught me to hit with my driver.
Hi Mark. I´ve hit my driver very inconsistant lately, but after watching this video and especially the part about clubface control, I hit 9 out of 10 drives down the fairway during the past round. Awesome feeling and I can´t wait until tomorrow to do it again!
THANX!
All my drives curve about 30-50 yards to the right what can i do it is so annoying and ruines so much holes.
Hi! I’m Josh.I did -10 lbs past two months.Visit hddiet.gs#bLBI1
3 good tips, my problem was not transfering onto my left side and hitting through, was trying to think of pulling the arms down and hitting from the inside to cure my slice but ending up pulling too many shots.
Thanks Mark just forgot the most simplest thing!
Dear Mark,
Thanks for the video’s always enjoy and easy to understand the mechanic’s your explaining. Quick question though regarding this video are flatting your left wrist at the top of the backswing before you start the downswing or you flatting it ahead of time in the setup phase. Thanks again, keep up the good work on video’s and I really appriecaite the response.
Good stuff thx mate improvement in swing Tyvm
Hi Mark fro the USA. Fantastic video on driving. I slice and have played to it all my life but am trying to straighten up and hit/address correctly. Having small hands though Mark, I do have trouble with interlocking and ‘little finger over’…which is really the best in your opinion please? Thanks, Mark Bishop Tucson Arizona.
