  1. I know they do not have the workability of an iron… but what about most golfers changing their long irons for the hybrid clubs? I carry a 3 and 4 hybrid for the longer Par 5s that I play on, as well as a second tee off when my driver and 3w are not coming in. But I also carry a TM Burner 2.0 4 iron as well.

  2. mark just out of interest what was the distances??? similar or did you get a bit more out of any specific one ???

  3. Mark do you think that the Ping i20 irons combine the larger cavity/sole long irons and blade like short irons?

  4. why did you not hit low punch shots with the blades?

i think that club may allow you to control your shots more in the wind…

  5. Mark, what about the workability of hitting fades or draws? I have always thought that with the hotter faces of the game improvement irons it will be more difficult? Also what about the distance control amongst the 3 types of long irons? I’m thinking the pro combo might be the best balance between workability and distance control?

  6. Great video mark, I have been weighing up between the ping i20 and g20 as my new set. I hit them at a range recently and felt the g’s fet Faron striking the ground and the i’s felt very crisp. Is that a feature of the think sole clubs? I hit the ball fairly high already so would the i’s be the go?

  7. Yeah the VRS might (might) improve you’re scoring but the VR PRO looks cooler and thats what is important………….

joking aside, you mention workability however there is no analysis of fading or drawing the ball which is also important. I’ve always found blades to outperform in this area, do you find the same?

  8. High or low trajectory, yes heavier cavity club might outperform the blade but not in fading and drawing the ball

  9. This still surprise me, just how lots of people do not know about Golfonax Training Program (search on google), although a lot of people improve their golf skills because of this training program. Thanks to my work buddy who told me about Golfonax Training Program, I have become a better golfer.

  10. Great video, I now know that me hitting the ball as high as Rory has something to do with my AP1 irons

  11. Mark, thanks for showing numbers in today’s video, if you could use numbers in more of your videos on iron comparison that would be great to see

  12. I can understand why a touring pro would need to work the ball laterally when faced with white tees on punishing courses. For a moderate to serious golfer looking to reduce his handicap, even down to low single figures, bladed clubs aren’t the answer. There is so much you can do to reduce your handicap with improvement clubs. Lowering handicaps is about hitting fairways, chipping & holing putts.

  13. Guys, improve your golf skills does not need to be difficult (I used to think it did). I’ll give you some advice right now. Search a training program called Golfonax Training Program (do a google search). Seriously, thanks to Golfonax Training Program I’ve improve my game. I probably shouldn’t even be talking about it because I don’t want a bunch of other folks out there running the same “game” but whatever, I am in a good mood today so I’ll share the wealth haha.

  14. in regards to workability mark the vr pro you got up 9ft higher than the first shot and the vrs was only 6 ft in comparison. so would say thats more workable. isnt it down to what you want from the club? myself much prefer the look of the blades. love the videos keep up coming

  15. I started playing Golf again about 6 years ago and I am 59. I bought a set of cavity backs and hit them fair at best. About 3 years ago I bought muscle back irons and will never use anything else. Yes, you have to be more precise with your swing but the shot dispersion is much tighter with the muscle back irons, if you are swinging well. It just depends on what you want to achieve. In my opinion cavity backs are harder to work.

  16. never gonna change from my eye 2’s can hit them low high just so confident with them

  17. 2:00 – 2:05 “As long as the golf club strikes the groung FIRST..” nooooo… that would be incorrect… this would be considered a “caught it Fat” situation… Golf ball first, then the dirt…

  18. I really like the simplicity of his teachings so many golfers have problems hitting their irons properly

  21. He means the bottom of the club instead of the leading edge of the club… he obviously knows that the club strikes the ball first and assumes that you know that too… look at his divots in front of the ball ..

  22. This still surprises me, how some people are not aware about Golfonax Training Program (google it), despite the fact that a lot of people improve their golf skills because of this training program. Thanks to my buddy who told me about Golfonax Training Program, I’ve improve my golf skills.

  23. Cheers Conan…sometimes we all need to go back and look at the basic fundamentals of what we’re trying to achieve….much appreciated !

  24. Thanks. I never knew that the angle of bottom of the club was the same as the face 🙂
This makes sense in relation to ball striking to me. Thak you, Sir!
