  1. Mark, it would be really good if we could see the ball, hence contact more often on your videos. 9 times out of 10 we don’t. Keep up the great work & thanks, it really is appreciated.

  2. Hi Mark, Im gonna buy the new mp 53s as my new iron set. Therefore I want to have a 60° lob-wedge and a 56° sand-wedge also from Miznuno.
Could you do a comparison between the new MP T-11 Wedge and the old MP T-10. what differences can you see and what influence do the new rules of groove design have to the spin-rate?
Thank you! I do apreciate your videos, they are really helpful!

  3. Mark I really appreciate your videos, very helpful. I understand loft of course, width or sole also. What I have a hard time deciding on is how much bounce is right. Some wedges have a number on them and I don’t know how to tell what it means as far as performance.Maybe a dumb question but anything will help. Thanks

  4. Great vids mark. Iv heard that you should change your wedge often due too the grooves wearing? And could you do a new vid on ball control. Thanks mate.

  5. Mark,
You have one of the most absolutely greatest comprehensive videos on golf equipments… One cannot go wrong by listening to what you have to say…Your objectivity and subjectivity on choosing equipments are clearly discernible. Suffice it to say that YOU always have something NEW to teach your viewers. Please! keep up your great work and we’ll keep watching and keep learning. I have made my G15 irons and my new Mizuno MPT 11 wedges based on your reviews.
    Many thanks to you Mark….Cheers!

  6. hey mark I’ve been watching your videos for a while and im trying to decide between titleist vokey wedges and taylormade tp xft wedges, which one has more spin could you use trackman on them? thanks! sean

  7. mark
my handicap is 22 and i have been playing for 1 year. i am want new irons and woods and rescue but how would i know what to get. thanks

  8. Ok I havent played golf since I was a little kid. Im not great just enjoy the game. I use a sand wedge for almost all my shots withinb 50 yards. I consider myself pretty accurate im not making every shot in the hole. But their mostly within 5-10 feet of the hole.

So my question is should I use a diffrent wedge. Im considering getting the taylor made atv when it comes out. Or should I just stick with what works?

  9. Hey Mark, I have DG s300 shafts in my irons standard length, no adjustments (I was fitted), do you have any suggestions of what types of shafts would be appropriate for my wedges based on my iron shaft information? Thank you.

  10. hey mark i am having some trouble with my game. can you do another backspin video because i did everything you told me but i still can’t get enough spin to check the ball around the green. I have a callaway forged 54 degree wedge. Please help thanks.

  11. Watch this guys videos,,make a list of about five brands/models and try them out at your golf shop, or demo day. He can guide you towards the perfect club, but you have to make the final decision as everybody has a differient swing.

  12. hi mark, i watch your videos all the time. Please tell me what do you think about the Tommy Armour brand wedge? im thinking about buying a set of those and would greatly appreciate your thoughts. specifically the 855 ta 25 sq model

  13. Thanks a lot for the help! The shovel analogy makes it clear to understand

  14. I have a set of ping G20 irons.
Pw is 45dg with 10dg of bounce.
    UW 50dg with 11dg bounce.
    Sw 56dg 12dg bounce.

And a Norman Drew utility wedge 58dg and low bounce.Md golf just say minim bounce.i`m thinking steeper angle of attack with the Ping and shallower withe the Norman Drew.Any help out there

  15. This is one of the most helpful golf videos I have watched. So easy to understand now what bounce I should look for in a wedge.

  16. @4golfonline – should you take bounce into consideration when shoppoing for a set of irons? ex. Ping G20 is more suitable if you are a digger vs Titleist ap1 for a sweeper? thanks

  17. Great way of explaining bounce, im due for new wedges and this really helped. Thanks for posting!

  18. yep – noticed that………no doubt loft/bounce is important but maybe he should use the shovel to scoop up some of the BS he is talking!!!

  19. Amazing video. Just turn the lights on in my head. I know now why my new wedges gives me a lot of topping. Will go get a few lower bounce wedges. Thanks!

  20. General rule of thumb is that more bounce is better, particularly on more moist golf courses in moist-er climates like the British Isles. When you’re pitching & chipping, you’re trying to keep the leading edge out of play. The front edge is more likely to dig in, thus increasing the chances of hitting the ball fat. Lower bounce clubs are less likely to fat in hotter, firmer conditions.
The SW(56) usually has the most bounce as it’s played from sand. This explains the bounce relates to lie.

  21. Hey Mr. Mark, my home course has both shaved tight lies and long bermuda grass rough around the greens. Which combination of wedges/bounce should one have for such conditions?

  22. Really good analogy, helped a lot. Kinda wanted to see you hit one with the shovel tho 😛

  23. Isn’t 10 degrees of bounce considered a digger style bounce as well as the 13? I understand the point you’re giving, but wouldn’t a lower bounce (slider/sweeper) wedge be like a 4 degree bounce? I play a 60.04 and a 60.10. The 4 bounce for chipping/pitching and the 10 bounce for full shots. I know many people tell me I’m stupid for playing 2 equal lofted wedges but it works for my game.

  24. Never would have thought a snow shovel could teach me so much about my wedges. I’m a sweeper and i have high bounce wedges, now I understand why I top the ball so much. Great video
