  1. As always, your analysis and tips are wonderful, I would say some of the very best on the Internet (and I watch most everything that is out there). You are especially insightful in uncovering basic swing flaws (like the upper body moving forward at the start of the downswing) and then finding very straightforward drills to remedy the flaw. Keep up the excellent work.

  3. Simple cure for shanking, address the ball so that the clubhead hovers (not grounded behind the ball) and the ball is in the centre of the clubface, this is because when you swing, the club pulls on the arms therefore they get slightly extended and if you address with the club on the ground the hosel instead of the face hits the ball if you line it up on the center of the clubface. Doing what Mark suggests will cause muscle contractions at impact and injury.

  4. Good video Mark. I especially enjoyed the final discussion regarding wedges. It wasn’t until last year when I purchased Mizuno MP R-12’s that I finally went to the “filling in the gap” strategy with 52, 56 and 60 degree wedges. It has significantly changed my game, and even more so, provided a level of of distance control confidence that I never had before. Rather than trying to finesse every shot using a 54 or 64-degree wedge, I know exact distances just as I do for all my irons. Thanks.

  5. Hey Mark, Love the videos! Any chance you might do some “on the course” type videos? I’d like to see you play! It might help viewers get better in certain situations

  6. Mark, all of this past season all I could do was hit shots off the toe of my irons. Now I can’t stop heeling/shanking them!! How would it be possible to go from on end of the spectrum to they other?
    Thanks

  7. Interesting on the wedges I have pw 46 degrees, then vokey’s at 50, 54 & 60. Sorted for 120, 105, 85 and 60 yards

  8. Mark does not have a handicap. He is a professional golfer and plays off scratch.

  9. ANOTHER GREAT VID MARK, I HAVE USED A PW, 52, 56, 60 FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS, JUST RECENTLY GOT FIT FOR SOME VOKEY SM4’S AND DECIDED I REALLY WANTED TO JUST HAVE 3 WEDGES SO I HAVE MY TITLEIST 712 MB PW WHICH IS 47* STOCK, AND INSTEAD OF A GAP I DID WHAT RORY DOES WHICH IS PUT IN A 54 ANDTHEN MY USUAL 60, I AGREE THOUGH I WANT MY LOB WEDGE TO BE AT LEAST 60* NO 58 AND SUCH, I CAN NOW ADD A 2 DRVING IRON, 2 HYBRID OR 5 WOOD AND WHEN IM ON A SHORT COURSE POP IN THE 50 DEGREE VOKEY I OWN.

  10. Love the videos mark. Any plans to do something on people who keep hitting wedge shots fat/thin?

  11. I would love to see you do a video on ball position for the driver. My cousin insist that playing the ball off the center of his stance with a driver is correct even though he hits the ball right, left, straight up etc. But you cannot convince him that he is wrong. He also has the back too far back for his other clubs and sways to get behind the ball which he is says is correct. Please reply to this and do a video, thanks Mark.

  12. You don’t need to be a scratch player to be a teaching professional. You only need an official scratch handicap to compete on a tour.

  13. Very helpful. I got a new set of clubs last season and (stupidly) without looking at my pitching wedge’s loft ordered a set of wedges 52.56.60. But I ended up with a big gap in my distances as my P was 4*. I ended up getting my 52 bent to 50 and 56 bent to 55. Now it is all good. Thanks for the vids.

  14. Thx u mark. This is the best youtube golf channel, lots of useful info and tip, definitely introduce more friends to watch ur channel and sub. Thx
