Top Golf Drivers for 2015 Golf Season to Hit Longer Drives

Golf Life met up with several golf companies while out at the PGA Merchandise Show to hear about some of their top products coming out this golf season.

We hear from Tony Dabbs from Nike Golf about the Vapor Flex Driver that features FlexFlight technology embedded in a carbon-enhanced RZN Cavity that adjusts the center of gravity (CG) from low and forward to low and back for fine-tuned launch conditions. A FlyBeam structure, Compression Channel, and NexCOR face combine to stabilize the chassis and maximize ball speed, resulting in forward weighting for a powerful, piercing ball trajectory. The Covert Cavity Back design redistributes weight towards the heel and toe to maximize forgiveness.

We also talked with Jason Finley from Callaway Golf about the XR Driver. Callaway believes speed is everything and that is their thinking behind the XR Driver. Sspeed comes from an aerodynamic crown, from the R-MOTO face, from a maximum shaft load, and the list goes on and on. Callaway traveled down a new path to make a driver that’s a proving ground for these great technologies. If it increases speed, it’s in XR Driver, and that’s why it’s Callaway’s fastest titanium driver ever.

Brian Bazzel from Taylormade Golf gave us an inside look (literally) of the R15 driver. The R15 features a lower and more forward center of gravity (CG), to promote higher launch and lower spin. The Front Track system performs like a Speed Pocket, reducing spin and increasing the size of the sweet spot, and the 4° loft sleeve along with new sliding split weights (12.5g each) make dialing in your tee shots easier than ever—slide the weights to center for max distance, heel for max draw, toe for max fade, or split them for max stability.

Finally, Golf Life talked with Michael Vrska of Wilson Staff. He told us more about their D200 driver. The driver is designed for the Distance player needing power, accuracy and a confidence-inspiring look at address – is the lightest and fastest adjustable driver on the market.
