No disrespect to the person who asked the question but as a 25 handicapper should they really be looking at a cheap set of GI irons and spend the rest on lessons and look to change the irons as they improve the swing?
How about the Cobra AMP ?
Can you change shafts in titleist drivers like going form a stiff to regular ? Thanks
You can change shafts in everything, but like Mark says, get yourself down to a good pro and test your swing. The testing rigs from all the major manufacturers are fantastic, and with the spin of a key you can go from DG 300’s to Rifles to Miyazaki’s to whatever else is out there, and TEST them all to see which fits you perfectly under controlled conditions.
It may cost a little bit of money and a lot of time, but it’s worth it. I got fitted for Ping K15’s, and it was money well spent.
Hey Mark,
will you be getting the new Nike Covert Series Clubs in for some testing!!
some people don’t want lessons they just wanna play so why not? also why getting stuck with some cheap irons when maybe those G25/Rocketbladez etc. will make them happier because they are easier to hit?
it depends which titleist driver u want. the newer models have the possibility to change the shafts. but be aware: a different shaft has prob a different weight so it will effect the swingweight, e.g if the new shaft would be lighter (maybe 10 gramm) the swingweight would increase (maybe from d2 to d5/d6).
The rocketbladez/G25 are not going to be significantly easier to hit then the burner 2.0 for example that you currently buy far cheaper because they are an older model. A 25 handicapper buying the latest GI irons is just throwing money away in my humble opinion.
Best thing any 25 handicapper can do, is practice what Mark says. When i was playing off 25 you could have sold me the latest rocketslice club and It wouldn’t have helped. Have some lessons, you’ll then realise everything mark tells us is spot on.
You should only buy new clubs if you want new toy don’t buy if you think it will make you better. I have played mizuno mp 52 and ping S 56 since I was hcp 43 and I only care about looks
hey mark i am looking for new irons. i am a 2 handicap and im think titleist mb’s or cb’s. also, if you know of any other good irons for me, please let me know. thanks!
What are your thoughts on Graphite Vs Steel Shafts on irons????
how about cleveland cg black irons
What would you recommend for travel bags…soft vs hard cases…best bag for the money.
Thanks!!!
Hey Mark I’ve probably watch 100 of your videos lol im a subscriber. I am about a 12-13 handicap only because my drives, but my irons im good at. I went ahead at got the Nike VR Pro Blades and I hit them solid 85 percent of the time. I like the way it feels when you hit a good shot with them (feels slicing butter). but i dont work the ball well tho. I am wanting something that had a greater amount of help! I like Nike but can do anything. What do you suggest?
