8620 isn’t the softest available, but the Adams clubs are forged. They are really, really good too.
as someone who games the a4 irons (which are pretty much the same as the CB2 and 3 that came in subsequent years) I would have to agree. They feel great. I got them for a very cheap price as well. Love Adams irons. Not as buttery as a Mizuno or Bridgestone or something of that nature, but very nice.
I don’t mean to be disrespectful, but this business about a cast iron club being “softer” than forged is possibly the biggest load of crap I have ever heard about clubs, and I’m confident that a metallurgist would agree. First of all, forging means “hammered”, not “cut”. Forged steel is ductile. Cast iron is very brittle, so it can hardly be soft at the same time. I very disappointed that this is such an obviously subjective review.
He did say forged iron is softer not the cast. (Replying to comment below).
Any chance of a review for some Cleveland clubs like the launcher driver and mashie hybrid
who cares??????
Great input vaughangolf you dick!!!
As always great vid.
Ping would disagree with you …
Archigiutarchi… Don’t mean to be disrespectful here but clean your ears out
Can we get a Miura irons review?
Aye, they’re shit 🙂
I wonder what people would think about golf clubs in blind testing. But Mark is exactly right that casting and forging… there’s not much difference. Certainly no human could detect a difference given identical club designs, with only the forming process being different. A club’s design, weight location, section thicknesses, etc are 99.9% the cause of how a club feels. Steel type and mfg process are so far off the list of factors, it doesn’t even matter.
Quit arguing over stupid bellshit!!! Golf is a game of feel my friends, play what feels good to you! Adams CB3 are the best feeling irons I’ve ever played. The best “FEELING” irons for me and I’ve had them all.
i think that´s not entirely true… the size of the sweet spot or the hotness of the face depend on the design of the club head (perimeter weighting vs. muscle back) not so much on the material. but i think that many manufacturers tend to use casting for their game improvement designs and the forging for their “better player” irons… i´m sure that the face of the forged mizuno H4 irons is way hotter than of pings cast s57´s simply due to the desing of the head…
best, bench

Two words for you…Ping s56 🙂
Ill do one for you. “Junk” Your welcome.
I would like to no,how fordge irons wear during the winter months.I have a brand new set of MP63s,and iam dying to play them, but I don’t want to do damage to them if the mud and wet in this country would destroy the grooves etc..I have fordged wedges and the groove look abit knacked now, although I do resharpen them myself.
I heard that they might be coming out late September.
Could you make a video hitting several shots with each. Validating a random spike in distance. Or perhaps proving inconsistancies?
